Freckles NCAR #1076
Freckles is a 5-6 year old black tri who was picked up in late September as a stray and landed with a rescue group in Napa. When the fires started, the rescue group had to evacuate and Freckles came to us. She’s a darling girl, only 43 pounds, and loves everyone. We got her spayed and gave her a full dental and she’s learning basic obedience.

Cookie Cookie
Cookie is a 6 pound, 8 month old terrier mix who came into the San Jose Animal Shelter with a broken leg. She was listed as “rescue only” due to her injuries so a member of the public could not adopt her.

We were contacted by someone who offered to adopt her if we would pull her under our rescue group….so we did, and then that person chose not to adopt her so Cookie is with us. We had her spayed and got her the surgery she required to fix her leg. She’s a darling little feather of a girl and knows her name, knows stay and is crate trained. She barks at strangers and new dogs that come to visit, but will calm down and even seek pets from people who leave her alone..
Fostered in Grass Valley.

Ruby
Ruby is a 6 year old red tri whose owner died. A family member with 4 cats took her in and soon learned that Ruby is intolerant of cats. Ruby loves all people, is a pushy, bossy Aussie girl who weighs about 60 pounds. She’d love to be an only dog in a loving home without cats! Ruby is near Modesto. Application required.

***ADOPTED 11/15***
Hazel
Hazel is a 35 pound, 8 year old mix whose owner kept her outside most of the time. She developed flea bite dermatitis so severely that most of her coat from her shoulders down has been scratched off. A kind neighbor asked to take Hazel and together, we are finding her a forever home where she can come inside and have a chance to grow her coat back. She’s sweet, mellow, fine with other dogs and cats and children. Hazel is fostered in McKinleyville. Application required
