2013 Recently Adopted Aussies

The list of adopted aussies is growing fast! Wonderful for the dogs but hard to show all on one page. We have split up the past adoptions by month. Use the links to see all our wonderful adoptions and adoptions we have assisted.

Whiskey NCAR #878
Whiskey is a sweet, 3.5-year-old Blue Merle boy and brother to Brandy. Whiskey is mellow, wants lots of petting, and is working on walking on a leash. He and his sister lived with an elderly couple who didn't take them anywhere, give them training, or take them on leash walks. He's loving, yet feels comfortable making his own decisions, like not coming when called! He follows me everywhere and was very much loved by his former people. Fostered in Grass Valley.

Frisco NCAR #863

Frisco is an 8-month-old, red merle boy. He was purchased together with his brother but the two were too much for their owner to handle together. So, she asked us for help. Frisco is loving, sweet, confident and bratty (but in a sweet way)!

He LOVES everyone he meets and will bring you a tennis ball to throw! He needs structure and consistency and should enroll in obedience classes in his new home. He loves fetch, the water, (streams, swimming pools - both human and wading, hose...well you get the picture. He will do anything to get you to throw the tennis ball for him. NO CATS!

Fostered in Grass Valley.

Knox NCAR #850
Knox was a stray into a shelter in Montana. He's about 18 months old, very lanky and should fill out to about 65 pounds. He was adopted by a kind woman who moved to California hoping he could adapt to her irregular schedule as a "traveling nurse."

Knox needs a very stable home with someone who will take him through obedience to help him gain confidence. He has separation anxiety, and wants to be wherever I am and will push through the skinniest of spots to get to me. At this point, he can't be left alone loose in the house, but slept fine all night along with my other dogs. He needs gradual desensitization to being left alone. I left him for 6 hours at the Sanctuary with 4 playful Aussies and he was just fine.

He's a nice boy who was skiddish the first time I met him, and is deathly afraid of men. He has improved, but needs someone with a lot of patience to continue working with him around men who make him back away and look for the van! He's sweet, loving, handsome and has lived with cats and livestock. Fostered in Grass Valley.

***ADOPTED 7/18***
Tucker is a 7-month-old, 40-pound mix who is loving, sweet, and smart. He loves giving puppy kisses, loves his tummy rubbed and playing with toys. He's not been around a cat. He was saved by a good Samaritan, and now that he's healthy and neutered, she's looking to find him a good home. Tucker is in Sacramento.
